Muchos armamos modelos como juguetes de ni\u00f1os, pero tambi\u00e9n todos tuvimos un momento en que dejamos de jugar para dedicarnos m\u00e1s seriamente al hobbie, recuerdas ese d\u00eda en que dijiste esto del modelismo me gusta en serio? \/\u00a0<\/span><\/strong>Many scale modellers have started building models as a game, using them as toys when child, but at some point in their lives they have stopped playing and have started building in a more professional way\u2026 do you remember that transition?<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

ESP:<\/strong> Es una excelente pregunta y lo recuerdo muy bien. Cuando regrese del Ejercito, a la edad de 20, inicie un peque\u00f1o club de modelismo que llam\u00e9 \u201cPlein Ciel\u201d (Full Sky), que era el nombre de mi boina militar\u2026 Comenzamos a participar y ganar muchos trofeos en algunos concursos de modelismo. En ese momento, las cosas se pusieron serias. Luego de unos a\u00f1os, nos separamos por diversas razones, familia, trabajo, mudanzas\u2026 En un concurso conoc\u00ed al presidente del IPMS Francia (A principios de los 90\u2019s), el quedo impresionado por mi vision del modelismo y me convenci\u00f3 de unirme al IPMS. \u201cTe enviare los papeles para que te registres tan pronto vuelva a Paris\u201d me dijo. Una semana despu\u00e9s, recipe una carta y el sobre estaba vacio!!!<\/span><\/p>\n

ENG:<\/strong> That\u2019s a very good question and I remember it well. Back from army, at the age of 20, I created a small modelling club that I called \u201cPlein Ciel\u201d (full sky), the name of the brand of my military beret\u2026We started to participate to some model shows and won a lot of trophies. At this moment, things became serious. After a few years, the team split for many reason, family, job, relocations\u2026 I met one day during an exhibition (beginning of 90\u2019s), the president of IMPS France, he was impressed by my vision of modelling. He convinced me to join IPMS, \u201cI\u2019ll send you a complete file for registration as I\u2019m back to Paris\u201d. One week later, I received a letter, the envelope was empty!!!<\/em>

Te dedicas full-time al armado de modelos? ESP:<\/strong> Es una actividad a tiempo completo, es mi trabajo! Paso cerca de 9 o 10 horas diarias en mi mesa de trabajo, las cuales tengo que combinar con mi familia, deportes, etc\u2026 Es mucho trabajo, 6 d\u00edas a la semana.<\/span><\/p>\n

ESP:<\/strong> Era muy peque\u00f1o, quiz\u00e1s unos 7 a\u00f1os, no recuerdo con exactitud, pero estoy seguro que fue algo a escala 1\/72 – 1\/76 (Airfix, Matchbox, Esci\u2026<\/em>). Seguramente fue un regalo de mi abuelo quien me contaba como el habia luchado contra el Wehrmacht durante la campa\u00f1a de Italia a la edad de 41. Yo estaba fascinado, el aun es mi heroe y una especie de guia espiritual a mi lado cuando trabajo.<\/span><\/p>\n

ENG:<\/strong>\u00a0<\/em><\/span>I was a little kid so I don\u2019t really remember, may be 7 years old\u00a0 <\/span>but I\u2019m sure it was 1\/72 – 1\/76 armor modelling ( AIRFIX , MATCHBOX, ESCI\u2026) Certainly a gift of my grand father who relate me how he fought against the Wehrmacht during the campaign of Italy at the age of 41. I was fascinating, he is still\u00a0 <\/span>my hero and a kind of spiritual guide by my side when I work.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

Cual ser\u00eda tu rutina model\u00edstica, si la hay, o que tiempo de tu d\u00eda dedicas al modelismo? tienes un horario preferido para sentarte a trabajar, como ser la noche por ejemplo? \/\u00a0<\/span><\/strong>Tell us about you modelling routine, do you have a special time of day? at night for example?<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

ESP:\u00a0<\/strong>Empiezo a trabajar a las 8 am. Paro a las 12 para ir al gimnasio y estoy de vuelta en la mesa de trabajo a eso de las 14 hrs luego de almorzar. Hago un descanso a las 6 para pasar tiempo con mi familia. Ocasionalmente paso 1 o 2 horas mas despues de las 21 para trabajar en cosas peque\u00f1as o colocar calcas por ejemplo, a esa hora todo esta tranquilo a mi alrededor, amo ese momento.<\/span><\/p>\n

ENG:<\/strong>\u00a0<\/em><\/span>I start to work at 8 in the morning, I stop at 12 to go to the gym. I\u2019m back on the workbench at 2 p.m after lunch. I make a break at 6 to share some time with my family. I often spend 1 or 2 hours and\u00a0 <\/span>often\u00a0 <\/span>more after 9 to work on small parts or decals for example, everything is quiet around me, I love this moment.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

Cu\u00e1l es tu etapa preferida del modelismo y porque? (compra, investigaci\u00f3n, armado, detallado, pintura, wheathering, etc). \/\u00a0<\/span><\/strong>Which is your favorite process when building a model and why? ESP:\u00a0<\/strong><\/span>Para ser honesto, realmente disfruto cada momento, pero si tengo que elegir uno, seria la cara de mis clientes cuando les entrego un modelo\u2026 Uno de ellos me dijo que ofrezco algunos sue\u00f1os\u2026 Te aseguro que no tengo amistad con sus esposas!<\/span><\/p>\n

Que tanto te gusta detallar un modelo? Y qu\u00e9 importancia le das a fidelidad hist\u00f3rica cuando armas modelos para ti? \/\u00a0<\/span><\/strong>When building models, are the details important to you? how important is the historical fidelity of a model?<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

ESP:<\/strong> Claro que es importante porque tomo muchas fotograf\u00edas tanto para mis clientes como para las revistas para mostrarles lo que hice y c\u00f3mo lo hice. Detallando es la mejor manera de explicar y compartir tips que yo cree hace mucho tiempo. Me agrada ver que mucha gente acepte mis consejos y los ponga en pr\u00e1ctica, es mi forma de aportar algo positivo al hobby.
\nDebo ser un afortunado porque poseo muchos libros, que me permiten estudiar a fondo cada avion y me ayuda a hacer mis modelos mas reales.<\/p>\n

ENG:<\/strong>\u00a0Sure it is because I take a lot of photo for both magazine or clients so I have to prove what I made and how I did it.\u00a0<\/span>Detailing is one of the best way to explain and share tips I create since a long time ago. I\u2019m glad to see many people adopted them, it\u2019s a manner to bring something positive to modelling. I must be lucky because I have a lot of books, it allow me to study aircrafts\u00a0<\/span>with a deep intention of making something\u00a0 <\/span>as real as possible<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

ESP:<\/strong> Que verguenza, mi avian favorito es muy com\u00fan, es el 109\u2026 Empez\u00f3 su carrera durante la guerra de Espa\u00f1a hacia 1945 y mas. Lucho en cada frente, a veces con colores extranjeros. Los mejores Aces anotaron con el 109\u2026 y que decir sobre el sonido del motor\u2026<\/span><\/p>\n

ENG:<\/strong>\u00a0<\/em><\/span>Shame on me, my favorite plane is very commonplace, it\u2019s the 109\u2026\u00a0 <\/span>It started is career during the Spanish war to 1945 and more . He fought on every front, sometime under foreign colours. The best aces scored\u00a0 <\/span>with it, and what about the sound of the engine\u2026<\/em>

ESP:<\/strong> Con el tiempo, aprendi que la forma de ganar mas y mas enemigos es participando en concursos\u2026 Por eso prefiero ir como \u201cTurista\u201d y pasar un buen rato con otros modelistas.<\/p>\n

ENG:<\/strong> With the experience, I learned that the best way to have more and more\u00a0 <\/span>enemies is to participate to contest\u2026 So I prefer to go there as a tourist and meet all the people I know (a lot) and share good time with them.<\/span><\/p>\n

ESP:<\/strong> No tengo un modelista referente en el hobby, pero hay 2 personas que admiro mucho, Koike Shigeo y Claes Sundin. Quede impresionado con la exactitud y el sentido art\u00edstico de su trabajo. Tambi\u00e9n me fascinan algunos modelistas que hacen figuras, con gran habilidad para la pintura al oleo.<\/p>\n

ENG:<\/strong> Oddly, I have no referent modeller in the hobby, but there are two persons I admire a lot, Koike SHIGEO and Claes SUNDIN . These two guy kill me by the accuracy and the artistic sens of their artwork.\u00a0 <\/span>I\u2019m also fascinating by some figures modeler with great proficiency of oil paint.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

ESP:\u00a0<\/span><\/strong>Creo que realmente es un arte cuando adquieres cierto nivel solo con una condici\u00f3n, haber comenzado el model\u00edsmo como un hobbie\u2026 quiero decir, disfrutar las primeras etapas de aprendizaje e ir mejorando con el tiempo hasta que te conviertes en un gran modelista, es un largo camino.<\/span><\/p>\n

ENG:<\/strong> I think it\u2019s really a fine art when you reach a certain level by only one condition, starting modelling as an hobby\u2026 I mean, taking first some pleasure with\u00a0 good practice and make it better and better until it makes you a great modeller, it\u2019s a long way.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

ESP:<\/strong> Tengo varios hobbies pero ninguno de ellos relacionados con el arte. Por ejemplo, me enamore completamente de Andalouc\u00eda, siento una verdadera pasi\u00f3n por esta region, un lugar donde espero pasar el resto de mi vida.<\/span><\/p>\n

ENG:<\/strong> I have several hobbies but none of them are in relation with art.\u00a0 <\/span>For example, I completely fell in love with Andalousia, a real passion for this region, a place where I hope ending my life.<\/em>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Panelado con oleos (a la antigua<\/em>) o con los nuevos \u201cwashes\u201d? \/\u00a0<\/span><\/strong>Panel lines with oils (Old school) or with new products ?<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

ESP:<\/strong> Solo uso oleos, son muy vers\u00e1tiles y puedes mezclarlos entre ellos para obtener los colores que necesites.
\nENG:<\/strong> I only use oil, it hollow to mix them together and obtain the shade you need.<\/em>

Que t\u00e9cnica consideras que no puede faltar a la hora de darle vida a un modelo? \/\u00a0<\/strong><\/span>What technique do your consider essential when giving life to a model?<\/em><\/p>\n

ESP:<\/strong> Desde hace mucho tiempo, cuando armaba militaria, siempre trate de reproducir el material. De ser capaz de crear la illusion de representar el material con t\u00e9cnicas de pintura es lo principal desde mi punto de vista. Hay algunos productos que est\u00e1n de moda para hacer \u201cEfectos de pintura\u201d, con ellos los modelos parecen \u201cCup Cakes\u201d sin embargo hay grandes modelistas detr\u00e1s de eso, y nunca extend porque ellos no usan sus habilidades para hacer efectos mucho mas realistas en sus modelos.

ENG:<\/strong> Since a long time ago when I was modelling armour, I always search to reproduce the material. To be able to create an illusion of material with painting technics is the must from my point of view. There are actually some new \u201cfashion paint\u00a0 <\/span>effects\u201d , modeles looks like \u201ccup cake\u201d yet they are good technicians behind. I never understand why these chaps don\u2019t use all their skills to approach more realistic aspect. <\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

ESP:<\/strong> Mi familia respeta mi trabajo, hice de mi hobby un trabajo, y ellos creen que soy afortunado por eso. Sobre mis amigos, son todos modelistas, ellos se interesan en mi carrera como modelista profesional y yo comparto con ellos mis consejos.<\/span><\/p>\n

ESP:<\/strong> Evergreen! Mi coraz\u00f3n tambi\u00e9n late por Zvezda, Tamiya, Skei Mura, Airfix, Hasegawa por la historia de esas marcas\u2026 Elegir una es imposible, cada marca tiene sus propias cualidades que me provocan asombrosas sensasiones!<\/span><\/p>\n

ENG:<\/strong> EVERGREEN!\u00a0 <\/span>My heart beat also for ZVEZDA, TAMIYA, ZUKEI MURA, AIRFIX, HASEGAWA\u00a0 <\/span>for the history of the brand\u2026 Making a choice is impossible, each brand has is own qualities that procure me amazing sensations.<\/em>

Que periodo, regi\u00f3n o industria de la aviaci\u00f3n es tu preferido a la hora de un proyecto y cu\u00e1l el menos? por que? \/\u00a0<\/span><\/strong>Which period, region or industry of the aviation is your favorite one when building a model or starting a project? and what is your least favorite? why?<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

ENG:<\/strong> Principalmente estoy interesado en la WW2, ciertamente por que mi naci\u00f3n fue completamente destruida, mas por el Ejercito Americano que por los Alemanes\u2026 y tal vez por que my familia sufri\u00f3 esta guerra en el norte de Africa (Algier<\/em>) y al sur de Francia. Tres de mis antepasados lucharon contra el enemigo, dos de ellos murieron en su M-8 Greyhound durante una emboscada en Sicilia. Pero no tengo preferencia por un avian espec\u00edfico, cada modelo es un desaf\u00edo, siempre tratando de reproducir el material y la ambientaci\u00f3n adecuada con delicadas t\u00e9cnicas de pinturas.<\/span>
\n<\/span><\/p>\n

ENG:<\/strong> I\u2019m mostly interest by the WWII period, certainly because my nation has been completely destroyed, most by American army than the German one\u2026And may be because my family\u00a0 <\/span>incur this war in North Africa\u00a0 <\/span>\u2018(Algier) and\u00a0 <\/span>south of France. Three of my\u00a0 <\/span>ancestors fought against the enemy, two of them died in their M-8 GREYHOUND during an ambush in Sicily. But I don\u2019t prefer a specific theater or type of aircraft, each modele is a challenge always keeping in mind to reproduce the material and the right vibe with fine paint technics.<\/em>
